As we think through the discipling of our children we are led by Deuteronomy 6:4-9 and 2 Timothy 3:14-15:
“Listen, Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. These words that I am giving you today are to be in your heart. Repeat them to your children. Talk about them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Bind them as a sign on your hand and let them be a symbol on your forehead. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your city gates.
But as for you, continue in what you have learned and firmly believed. You know those who taught you, and you know that from infancy you have known the sacred Scriptures, which are able to give you wisdom for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
2 Timothy 3:14-15
Scripture's instruction is clear: we are to teach and disciple our children. We as a church believe children are most effectively discipled by their family and a church that supports the family’s efforts; both family and church working together. Therefore, we think “Orange.” The family (red) and the church (yellow) uniting to help each child reach their potential in Christ.
